Anguilla Parliament passes six new financial sector bills

Anguilla’s House of Assembly has approved six bills aimed at strengthening the territory’s financial services regulatory framework and improving compliance with international tax transparency standards. The reforms expand the powers of the Registrar of Companies to obtain information, conduct inspections and impose civil penalties, while updating legislation governing business companies, limited liability companies, foundations, trust and corporate service providers, and offshore banking. Premier Cora Richardson Hodge said the measures will enhance oversight and bolster confidence in Anguilla’s financial sector. Opposition members supported the legislation, describing it as necessary to improve compliance, protect the jurisdiction’s reputation and attract reputable international business.
