Caribbean Guilder launched as new currency in Curaçao and Sint Maarten. As of 1 July 2025, Curaçao and Sint Maarten have adopted the Caribbean guilder as their sole legal tender, retiring the Antillean guilder. All businesses, government bodies and services now transact exclusively in the new currency. Curaçao International Airport confirmed it will only accept Caribbean guilders for purchases, with parking machines temporarily accepting debit-card payments; cash payments must be made at the on-site Parking Office. This changeover represents a major monetary reform for the Dutch Caribbean territories, ushering in a unified currency system and signalling the end of the Antillean guilder’s era.
