Crypto.com granted conditional VASP licence. Crypto.com has received a conditional Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) licence from the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA), marking a major step in the territory’s push to become a global digital assets hub. The platform, with over 150mn users, is one of the first major exchanges to publicly announce such approval under Cayman’s updated 2024 VASP Act. The licence allows Crypto.com to expand services through its institutional-grade exchange. Officials say the move boosts investor confidence and strengthens Cayman’s appeal to Web3 businesses. Full authorisation is expected soon. The announcement comes ahead of the inaugural Cayman Crypto Week in February 2026.
