William specialises in Cuba Finance. He has worked in and with Cuba since 1995, and speaks both Spanish and English. He holds an UK ACMA and Wharton MBA (1989). 

He is currently the Chief Investment Officer and Havana partner of Antillean Fund, and EU regulated Trade Finance Fund and also Advisor to the owners of a licensed finance company on the island re fundraising and credit policy. They are always interested to talk to potential investors. He is a partner in a cultivated shrimp project. He also works on originating and structuring financings for foreign investments and projects in Cuba.

From 2002 through 2013, he set up, expanded and ran Republic Bank’s successful banking and trade finance and receivables finance business in Havana with a staff of 25 professionals. At the high point in 2008, they had a portfolio of US$ 240 million, all successfully recovered with interest. From 1997 through 2001, he was a Country Manager for CDC Groups PLC and set up and ran a successful JV trade finance company, CariFin, in Havana.

Prior to moving to Cuba, William worked with Bankers Trust in New York, and with Royal Dutch Shell and PWC in Lima, Peru. He has worked extensively in Latin America and Africa, specialising in cross-border investments and financings, with direct on the ground experience in Peru (12 years), Cuba (23 years), Venezuela (2 years), Mexico (1 year), and Zambia (2 years), as well as shorter assignments in Southern Africa, Dominican, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina.
